The Aerosol Medicine Research Laboratory at the Department of Respiratory Care seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team. Aspiring to become an independent academic researcher in aerosol medicine, the fellow will primarily collaborate with Dr. Arzu Ari. Our research program focuses on evaluating treatments and devices for delivering inhaled medications to patients with pulmonary diseases, identifying predictors of clinical and economic outcomes, and optimizing aerosol drug administration across various age groups.
The successful applicant will bring expert-level experience to this position and demonstrate a deep understanding of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. As a member of our team, the postdoc will work in the Aerosol Medicine Research Lab at Texas State University, actively participating in the planning and execution of studies, including literature reviews, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting. Our aim is to generate insights on what matters most to patients regarding pulmonary disease and treatments. The postdoctoral scholar position offers a professional appointment to recent recipients of postdoctoral degrees, providing valuable experiences and skills to advance their careers. The post-doc will work closely with Dr. Arzu Ari, who will serve as a mentor and provide guidance. The faculty sponsor will offer an orientation and development plan, encouraging the post-doc to broaden their aspirations and gain experiences. The role requires a significant and full-time commitment to research, scholarship, teaching, or other professional activities. Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the development of in vitro, in vivo, and clinical studies in aerosol medicine.
- Assisting with formulating research objectives.
- Collaborating with faculty on translational research.
- Collecting and analyzing research data gathered from in vitro and clinical studies.
- Preparing and assisting reports of research findings.
- Using statistical methods and relational databases to analyze data sets.
- Assisting with technical reports/manuscript preparations.
- Ordering and preparing chemical solutions, and research reagents needed for in vitro experiments.
- Assisting with the preparation of grant proposals and submissions.
Required Qualifications:
Recently awarded a PhD, PharmD, or equivalent doctorate in aerosol medicine, clinical pharmacy, health sciences/professions, or health outcomes research from an accredited doctoral program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous research experience in pharmaceutical, aerosol, and clinical research.
Excellent database management skills including quantitative data analysis skills (SAS, SPSS, R, or STATA)
