RDD Online, organizers of the Respiratory Drug Delivery (RDD) meetings has announced that a virtual conference called simply RDD 2021 will replace RDD Europe 2021, which had been scheduled to take place May 4-7 in Antibes, France. The 2021 conference is the second RDD meeting to switch to a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic; Digital RDD 2020 was scheduled on short notice and began on April 26, 2020.
The new meeting will feature up to two hours of live presentations per day over May 4-7 and will also include on-demand presentations and posters for a longer period of time, with content organized in “Knowledge Spaces.” In addition to the limited real time content and Knowledge Spaces, RDD 2021 will differ from Digital RDD 2020 in offering delegates the opportunity to interact with each other.
The RDD 2021 exhibition will also feature some “new opportunities for enhanced visibility,” including a meeting scheduler. The organizers note that, “We appreciate that sponsors, workshop presenters and exhibitors must receive value in order to support the presentation of excellent, peer-reviewed science by invited experts. This motivates our unique interactive conference design and the creation of new opportunities for enhanced and extended corporate visibility proportional to your chosen level of financial support.”
RDD 2021 is currently accepting workshop proposals and poster abstracts. Graduate students who have a poster accepted will get free admission and will automatically be eligible for the VCU RDD Peter R. Byron Graduate Student Award.
