By the time DDL 2020 began its live “Christmas lectures” on December 9, more than 1,450 delegates had registered for the meeting. Although the live presentations concluded on December 11, there are still benefits to registering if you have not already (especially because registration is free) and to continuing to log in if you are already registered. Not only are all of the lectures and flash presentations available on demand through January 10, 2021; you can still browse the booths in the exhibition hall, and you can still message delegates through the conference messaging system.
Lectures available on demand cover a wide range of technological advances, including a talk by Josué Sznitman of the Israel Institute of Technology on “Surfactant Foam Therapy For Severe Covid-19 Patients With Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS),” describing a new method of delivery; a discussion of “Powder Microstructural Analysis for Inhalation Blends” by Darragh Murnane of the University of Hertfordshire; and an explanation of “Data Science and AI in drug development– challenges and case studies from AstraZeneca” from Anders Broo of AstraZeneca.” You can also watch the annual DDL Emerging Scientist lecture from this year’s winner, Jenny Lam of the University of Hong Kong and more than 50 other presentations on demand.
In addition, if you missed the networking sessions sponsored by the DDL New Researcher Network Committee, recordings of two of those sessions are available. The first of those, from December 9, features Josué Sznitman and DDL committee member Michelle Dawson of Pharmaron UK leading a discussion on “Sustainability vs effective drug delivery to the lungs.” The other, from December 11 on the topic of “Dry powder technologies – back to the future?” is led by Lea Ann Dailey of the University of Vienna and DDL committee member David Harris of Cambridge Healthcare Innovations.
You can also still use the messaging functions in the virtual conference platform to contact other delegates or to inquire about products or services you see in the exhibition hall, where you can visit more than 50 virtual booths. Most of the booths offer the opportunity to download literature and/or to watch videos highlighting the company’s offerings.
