MSP launches NGI+ cascade impactor

MSP, a division of TSI, has announced the launch of an enhanced Next Generation Impactor (NGI) called the NGI+, which is designed for improved resistance to corrosion and longer life expectancy. According to MSP, which was acquired by TSI in 2016, existing NGIs can also be upgraded to the new standard.

The NGI+’s greater tolerance of harsh conditions makes the impactor more suitable for nebulizer testing and makes it easier to clean than the original NGI, the company said. In addition to being cleanable with harsher chemicals, the NGI+ does not require manual cleaning and can be used with automated cleaning systems, according to MSP.

TSI Global Product Manager Erik Anderson commented, “We are excited to offer a new version of the original Next Generation Impactor (NGI). The new NGI+ is designed to address an emerging need in the industry for a more durable cascade impactor, while maintaining the fundamental design that made the original NGI the industry standard. And, we hope the ability to upgrade existing NGIs makes the new features of the NGI+ more accessible.”

MSP sells its NGIs in North America, and Copley Scientific sells the impactors in the rest of the world. MSP also sells Copley’s line of OINDP testing equipment in North America.
