Swedish DPI developer Iconovo has hired former Actelion executive Johan Wäborg as its new CEO, the company said. Wäborg has held a number of positions at Actelion over more than 13 years with the company; he was most recently General Manager for the Nordic countries.
According to the company, Wäborg will succeed company founder Orest Lastow sometime before mid-April 2020. Lastow will continue as CEO until that time and after that will serve as Chief Technology Officer, focusing on development of the company’s new ICOpre DPI platform, which is designed for generic versions of Ellipta products.
Lastow said, “I’m welcoming Johan to Iconovo and I’m looking forward to focus on the product development in Iconovo. Our new ICOpre project that was announced during our Q3 report is the single largest investment of Iconovo ever and I’m excited to bring this project to a successful outcome, bringing further commercial success to Iconovo.”
Iconovo’s Chairman of the Board Mats Johansson commented, “The board is pleased and proud having recruited Johan Wäborg as CEO of Iconovo. He will bring an extensive strategic experience from global business development in a listed strongly growing company. With his background and leadership qualities, I’m convinced that Johan will continue to develop Iconovo and bring continued success to the business.”
The company also said that it raised 60 million SEK from new investors Andra AP-fonden, Fjärde AP-fonden and Länsförsäkringar Fondförvaltning in a directed share issue in November 2019.
