Clement Clarke has announced the launch of its Clip-Tone technique guidance whistle for use with GSK’s Evohaler Ventolin and Seretide MDIs in the UK. The Clip-Tone will be available by prescription only.
Like the company’s Flo-Tone inhaler training device, the Clip-Tone provides audio feedback when the patient inhales at the correct inhalation rate, with the tone continuing to sound for as long as the correct rate is maintained. Whereas the Flo-Tone attaches to the mouthpiece of the inhaler, the Clip-Tone attaches to the top of the MDI.
The company presented data at the recent International Society of Aerosol Medicine (ISAM) Annual Congress from a survey of adults who used the Clip-Tone. All of the patients surveyed confirmed that they wanted to continue using the Clip-Tone following completion of the study.
Clement Clarke International Managing Director Justin Evans said, commented, “We are delighted to see the results for our innovative Clip-Tone presented at ISAM and the availability for UK prescription. Our development team have a multi-stage process that opens up possibilities for a patient feedback app and a low-cost adherence monitoring capability.”
