Inhaler testing equipment company Copley Scientific announced that it has acquired Novi Systems, which manufactures inhaler testing automation solutions, including the Ictus automated Andersen cascade impactor, the Vertus shake, fire and flow control systems, and the Decavertus, which can shake and fire to waste up to ten MDIs at a time.
Copley, which recently opened expanded headquarters in Nottingham, UK, said that Novi Systems will relocate to the Copley facility later this year.
Both companies have introduced a number of new products over the past year, including an imaging module for the Decavertus from Novi and new accessories for testing nebulizers with face masks, for IVIC testing, and for ACI and NGI testing.
Copley Scientific CEO Mark Copley said, “We’ve known and respected Novi for many years, and the two companies are highly complementary with a strong set of shared values. Like Copley, Novi is a UK-based family business, with a ‘can do’ problem solving approach and a reputation for engineering excellence. I’m particularly looking forward to working with Adam Smith who will head up the Automation Division at Copley Scientific, as we continue to develop and evolve our range of advanced inhaler testing solutions. Our combined strengths will undoubtedly provide customers of both companies with new opportunities to streamline and enhance their inhaler testing capabilities.”
Novi Systems Founder and Managing Director Malcolm Smith commented, ‘The Copley name is synonymous with inhaler testing and we are delighted to be joining such a strong company. Our businesses share a commitment to exemplary customer service and I’m particularly pleased that Novi customers will benefit from an extended knowledge base, as well as a broader global distribution and support network. Mark has a clear vision for Copley Scientific and we’re looking forward to being part of a very bright future.’
