Device maker H&T Presspart has announced that its eMDI connected inhaler technology won the award for “Most Impact on Healthcare Community” in the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Challenge at the 2018 Active and Intelligent Packaging Industry Association (AIPIA) World Congress. Benjamin Jung and Jan Henke of H&T Presspart made the winning presentation.
The company said, “We are extremely pleased to win this award of “Most Impact on Healthcare Community” which highlights the focus H&T Presspart is putting on smart technologies. Smart respiratory drug delivery devices are the future of improving patient adherence and will help create large savings and efficiencies in patient healthcare.”
The competition required companies to present their ideas in a 4 minute pitch to a panel of GSK executives “seeking active and intelligent packaging technologies that can facilitate the following for our pharmaceutical product base.” Criteria for judging included the applicability of the technology to GSK’s product line, ease of use, tracking of compliance data, personalization, cost, and sustainability.
H&T Presspart and Cohero Health announced the eMDI project at RDD 2016 and officially launched the device at DDL 2016.
