Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has officially opened its first US manufacturing site in Monroe, North Carolina, the company said. The 100,000 sq ft, $100 million facility will eventually produce hundreds of millions of doses in various forms annually, including 25-30 million inhalation ampoules.
The site currently employs 168 people, and the Glenmark said that it expects to hire many more. According to the announcement, the company has partnered with a local community college to train prospective employees, and more than 200 have already completed the program.
Glenmark President, North America & Global API, Robert Matsuk said, “Our investment in Monroe is a key priority for Glenmark, and contributing to the surrounding community through high-quality job creation and educational investments is a critical success factor as we expand our global manufacturing operations into the US.
