The location is spacious, Dalby says, with plenty of room to accommodate all of the exhibitors expected, so companies interested in taking part still have the opportunity to register and exhibit. He recommends that companies who register for the exhibition take a look at the exhibition guidelines before shipping their materials to the meeting location in order to ensure that all goes smoothly.
The poster and technology exhibitions, which will take place on the first two full days of the meeting, will host a number of networking opportunities, including refreshment breaks, grab-and-go lunches, and a reception on Monday evening, April 23.
Other networking opportunities at RDD 2018 include an opening reception on Sunday night, April 22, which will feature stargazing guided by a local astronomer, and a banquet with dancing on the night of April 25. In addition, Dalby notes, the hotel offers numerous rooms and alcoves where delegates can get together for private meetings and chats.
On the morning of April 25, the meeting will take a break to allow delegates to take advantage of recreational opportunities in the area. In addition to numerous activities available at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa, including golf and swimming in a lazy river pool, the Tuscon area offers many attractions.
For an additional fee, delegates may opt to sign up for organized activities during the meeting break. The options include mountain biking, a visit to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum or the Pima Air and Space Museum, or participation in a cattle drive on horseback.
RDD meetings take place in the US during the spring of even numbered years. RDD Asia meetings also take place in even numbered years during the fall, and RDD Europe meetings take place during the spring of odd-numbered years.
