Innovus Pharmaceuticals says that it has launched FlutiCare fluticasone propionate nasal spray over the counter in the US in independent pharmacies and through its own online sites, as well as through Amazon and Walmart online stores. The company said that it plans to introduce the product in large retail stores in the next phase of the launch.
Earlier this year, Innovus announced that it had acquired rights to an approved fluticasone propionate nasal spray from West-Ward Pharmaceuticals while the ANDA for a fluticasone propionate nasal spray that it had acquired along with Novalere in 2015 remained in limbo. The FDA approved West-Ward’s ANDA 207957 in May 2016.
Innovus President and CEO Bassam Damaj commented, “We are very excited to launch FlutiCare OTC and provide all patients with allergy relief. FlutiCare traces its roots as the most prescribed Rx 24-hour nasal allergy spray API and form in the US over the past 7 years by a factor of over 10 to 1.”
The company said that it is also planning to offer a “fluticasone kit for nasal allergy” that would include FlutiCare and a saline nasal spray “pending FDA’s guidance.”
