Cipla has announced the launch of a mobile app called “My Breathefree,” which is intended to serve as a “virtual caregiver” for asthma patients in India. The app includes video demonstrations of correct use for various types of inhalers in 10 languages, as well as dose reminders, tracking tools for peak expiratory flow rate, a “trigger map,” and other resources from the company’s Breathefree public education initiative.
According to Cipla, “‘My Breathefree’ app will help patients and caregivers track, understand and manage Asthma better. Users can access information on asthma, its triggers, track and share their treatment progress over time, set reminders to take their medication, record their asthma management plan, find nearby specialist clinics as well as answers to FAQs. The App aims at helping patients in controlling and managing their disease well and increase adherence, which according to doctors is a major concern when it comes to chronic respiratory disease management.”
