The Medicon Valley Inhalation Consortium (MVIC) has announced that Ola Nerbrink has succeeded Orest Lastow as CEO. Nerbrink was previously MVIC’s VP of Business Development. Lastow, who founded MVIC in 2012, left the position in May 2014 to become CEO of device developer Iconovo. That company has now entered into a collaboration agreement with MVIC, Nerbrink said.
MVIC has grown from 7 companies in February 2012 to 24 companies today. In April 2013, the consortium formed a jointly-owned company, MVIC AB, which provides inhalation product development services from discovery to Phase 2/3.
According to Nerbrink, MVIC has more than 10 projects of various sizes underway, including a 2-year, €1.6 million contract with a Chinese company for development of an inhaled generic drug that was announced in May 2014.
MVIC also sponsors the Medicon Valley Inhalation Symposium.
