Aerosol component and filling specialist Coster has announced that it will develop and construct a 150 can/minute MDI filling line for Catalent Pharma Solutions’s Inhalation Center of Excellence in Research Triangle Park, NC. Catalent announced a $20 million expansion of its inhalation capabilities at the RTP center in January 2013. According to Coster, the line will include the company’s Air-Q system for continuous sterile air within a clean room environment and camera vision systems for statistical analysis of crimping parameters.
Coster said in its announcement of the deal, “This is a milestone achievement for Coster as it reinforces its presence in the US market and helps strengthen its role in this regulated market.” The Italian company, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, manufactures components for MDIs and nasal sprays as well as filling equipment.
