Contract particle characterization specialist Gateway Analytical has announced that it will host the 2012 Inhalation and Nasal Technology Focus Group (INTFG) Annual Fall Symposium on September 7, 2012 at the Pittsburgh North Marriott in Cranberry, PA.
The 2012 symposium, titled “Excipients for Pulmonary Delivery–Challenges and Opportunities,” will feature presentations about OINDP excipients, including updates from both academia and industry, case studies, and “focused discussions involving leading academic, government, and industrial scientists [that] will allow the identification of the most important success factors on the path from formulation design to production.”
In addition to the focus on excipients, the symposium will include a contributed papers session covering all areas of inhalation and nasal drug technology and a Posters on the Podium session featuring the top three posters submitted. The submission deadline is August 19.
Symposium attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the 3,000 sq. ft. Gateway Analytical cGMP facility in Gibsonia, PA, which opened officially in April 2011. Gateway Senior VP David Exline commented, “We are honored to host the INTFG Annual Fall Symposium this year. I’m excited to take part in the discussions with many of the great minds in the field and look forward to showcasing our new facility.”
According to the INTFG, the goals of the symposium are:
— “To foster and advance the art and science of the pharmaceutical aerosol drug delivery system among focus group members and interested parties.”
–“To provide and disseminate to its members information relating to matters of scientific and technical interest in the field of aerosol products, aerosol technology, and related processes.”
–“To foster and encourage a spirit of friendly cooperation among its members and to promote favorable relations between its members and related health professionals.”
