Mark Shepherd, Respiratory Physics Lab and Workshop Manager at Team Consulting, will attempt to set a world record by climbing to the top of the Empire State Building in New York City while carrying 125 kg on his back. The attempt will take place on May 26, 2012 and will benefit the Myositis Support Group, a UK charity. To date, Shepherd has raised £370,000 through corporate and private donations.
The Empire State Building climb of 86 flights of stairs should take about 3 hours, according to Shepherd, and will be filmed for a documentary.
