Gilead, Seattle, WA. Reporting to the Director, Respiratory Pharmaceutical Development, the successful candidate will play a number of key roles in the development of Gilead’s respiratory products. The successful candidate will be a member of CMC development teams and will be expected to lead the formulation development efforts. A good background in analytical chemistry and analysis is required, and experience with aerosol testing and aerosol methods is preferred.
Responsible for conducting scientific research for the discovery of drugs, the development of drug candidates or the research support of marketed drugs. Applies the principles and techniques of related scientific specialty to potential inventions, products and problems.
Investigates the feasibility of applying advanced principles and techniques of related scientific specialty to products and problems.
Recommends the development of state-of-the-art techniques to characterize substances, assays and tools.
Provides direction to Research Associates or members of project teams in the initiation and execution of laboratory experimentation, considering economic, regulatory and safety factors.
Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variables, requiring regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Typically requires a PhD in appropriate scientific discipline and 7 years of relevant experience that indicates an aptitude to make significant contributions within specialty and sustained strong performance and accomplishments that align to company goals.
