The Pulmonary & Nasal laboratory Scientist team at Catalent is responsible for the support of pharmaceutical product development in a range of dosage forms both directly with customers and in collaboration with other Catalent facilities. This includes formulation development, structural chemistry, analytical support, and clinical trials material manufacturing.
Our Pulmonary & Nasal Scientists usually work with some supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters. The Scientist may be assisted by laboratory technicians/assistants or associate level scientists. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity. This position has appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action or decision. He/she may direct projects and employees, taking on a technical lead role.
Experience with inhaled, pulmonary & nasal related pharmaceutical products is required for this position.
Specific duties, activities and responsibilities:
- Author complex technical reports and independently writes SOPs.
- Serve as primary customer technical contact (Project Director) for one or several projects with high revenue and customer relationship value.
- Practice inclusion and stimulates active participation.
- Well-established relationship with customer becomes more consultative; advising customer on alternative development approaches. Become the customer’s advocate to facilitate seamless provision of integrated Catalent services.
- Clarify and communicate complex technical issues to customers who may/may not have technical backgrounds.
- Allocate resources in accordance with business unit goals.
- Effectively manage upward, and lead cross-functional teams.
- Manage operations deliverables without compromising Catalent core values.
- Back-up supervisor on most technical or business issues for their group.
- Deliver on commitments to senior management.
- Maintain/reinforce performance standards.
- Provide leadership to institute change in the local environment.
- May publish or present externally.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
Education and Experience:
Doctorate’s degree and 5+ years related experience; master’s degree and 10+ years related experience; bachelor’s degree and 14+ years related experience, or equivalent education, experience and training
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced project management skills are routinely practiced for multiple concurrent projects of moderate complexity
- Accountable to meet business unit revenue targets
- Can assess new technologies and their impact on Catalent offerings
- Experienced in most aspects of drug development and lifecycle support, and able to develop useful strategies and tactics to meet regulatory milestones
